About Microneedling

  • Collagen is the key structural protein that gives skin its strength, firmness, and elasticity. However, as we age, collagen production naturally declines—and the collagen we do have becomes fragmented and disorganized. Combined with a reduction in elastin and hyaluronic acid, this leads to:

    • Thinner, less elastic skin

    • Fine lines and deeper wrinkles

    • Loss of volume and firmness

    • Increased sagging and dryness

    • Genetics: Your genetic makeup influences how quickly you lose collagen

    • Stress: Chronic stress increases cortisol, which inhibits collagen synthesis

  • While microneedling is safe and effective for most individuals, there are certain situations where it may not be recommended. You may not be an ideal candidate if you:

    • Have active acne, open wounds, or skin infections

    • Have recently undergone radiation therapy in the treatment area

    • Are currently taking Accutane (Isotretinoin) or have taken it within the last 6 months
      (Microneedling should be delayed for at least 6 months after stopping Accutane to avoid complications.)

  • After a Collagen P.I.N. procedure, your skin may appear pink or red like a mild sunburn, which usually subsides within 24 hours. Post-treatment care involves gently cleansing the skin, applying recommended hydrating products, and avoiding sun exposure, strenuous exercise, and harsh skincare ingredients. You may also experience some dryness or flaking a few days later. 

  • While some improvements may be visible immediately, the most significant results emerge over the following weeks and months as your skin regenerates collagen.
